It's Time For Paper Eggs For Easter Seals Kids as Retailers Support Campaign For Ontario's Kids With Physical Disabilities
Toronto, ON, February 28th 2008—Local retail outlets will participate in the Easter Seals Paper Egg Campaign to support children and youth with physical disabilities. The annual event, held from February 29th to March 23rd 2008, is an integral part of March is Easter Seals Month, Easter Seals’ annual fundraising and awareness campaign.
Throughout Ontario, retail stores such as, Giant Tiger, Golden Griddle, Independent Grocers, No Frills, The Bargain Shop, SAAN, Sobey’s, Valumart and individual IGA and Canadian Tire stores will be supporting local children and youth with physical disabilities by offering customers the opportunity to purchase a $2.00 Paper Egg for Easter Seals Kids. Customers are invited to write their names, or the name of a loved one, on the Paper Egg and have it displayed in the storefront windows or throughout the store.
"The Easter Seals Paper Egg Campaign is an easy way to show your support for children with physical disabilities," says Sandra Bellisario, Vice President of Development for Easter Seals Ontario. Every "toonie" counts! With every egg you buy, you help a child and their family with the purchase of vital mobility equipment, helping these young kids achieve a greater level of independence.”
Since 2000, The Paper Egg Campaign for Easter Seals Kids has raised close to 3 million dollars but there is still much more to do. Families rely on Easter Seals Ontario to help purchase expensive equipment needed for mobility and communication, send kids to camp and other recreational programs, and provide access to information and resources.
