Retailers Support Easter Seals Paper Egg Campaign for Kids With Physical Disabilities
Toronto, ON, March 11, 2010—All over the province, retailers are participating in the Easter Seals Paper Egg campaign to help support kids with physical disabilities. The annual event, held from March 12th to April 4th 2010, is an integral part of March is Easter Seals Month, Easter Seals’ annual fundraising and awareness campaign.
In Toronto, retail stores such as, Sobeys, IGA, Price Chopper and Foodland, Money Mart, The Bargain! Shop, Fabricland, Golden Griddle, No Frills, Valu-mart and Canadian Tire will be supporting Ontario’s children and youth with physical disabilities by offering customers the opportunity to purchase a $2.00 Paper Egg for Easter Seals Kids. Customers are invited to write their names, or the name of a loved one, on the Paper Egg and have it displayed in the store.
"The Easter Seals Paper Egg Campaign is an easy way to show your support for children with physical disabilities," says Sandra Bellisario, Vice President of Development for Easter Seals Ontario. Every "toonie" counts! With every egg you buy, you help a child and their family with the purchase of vital mobility equipment, helping these young kids achieve a greater level of independence.”
Since 2000, The Paper Egg Campaign for Easter Seals Kids has raised over 4 million dollars province-wide to help kids with physical disabilities, but there is still much more to do. Families rely on Easter Seals Ontario to help purchase expensive equipment needed for mobility and communication, send kids to camp and other recreational programs, and provide access to information and resources.
